Living in Nuremberg
Known in the Middle Ages as a free imperial city and occasional imperial seat, Nuremberg has many historic buildings from this period. Although the city was heavily destroyed during World War II, many historic buildings have been preserved. The most important landmarks are the Nuremberg Imperial Castle and the city churches of St. Lawrence, St. Sebald and the Church of Our Lady. Extremely worthwhile for a sightseeing trip is definitely the Historic Mile, a city tour through the picturesque old town, which leads to about 35 sights. Apartmentservice offers the serviced apartments of its Nuremberg partners in the area of the Old Town.
Art & culture in Nuremberg
During the Nazi era, Nuremberg gained worldwide fame when the annual Nazi Party Rallies were held on the Nazi Party Rally Grounds and the Nuremberg Laws were passed. After World War II, on the other hand, the Nuremberg Trials made the city the site of the first judgments based on international criminal law, earning it the title of "City of Human Rights." Numerous museums within the city area commemorate this period as well as the city's varied history.
Places to visit in and around Nuremberg
Not only Nuremberg itself offers numerous worthwhile places to visit. The neighbouring city of Fuerth, where we also offer serviced apartments, is very easy to reach from Nuremberg and also offers numerous interesting cultural offerings and sights. These include the city theatre or the town hall, built in Italian style, which is considered the landmark of the city. The university town of Erlangen with its popular castle garden is also worth a visit. A special place in the calendar is the annual Bergkirchweih, popularly known simply as Berg.
