Market overview of serviced apartments in Germany
According to the Market Report Serviced Apartments 2022, which Apartmentservice publishes annually, there are currently over 40,000 serviced apartments* in Germany (as of March 2022). The supply in Germany has therefore more than doubled in the last ten years. The market report forecasts market growth of a further 15,000 units by 2024. If the development continues at this rapid pace, there could be more than 100,000 serviced apartments in Germany as early as 2030. This means that serviced apartment will continue to compete with hotels and classic holiday apartments.
The enormous growth illustrates the unabated demand for this popular alternative to hotels. The advantages for temporary living compared to stays in hotels are obvious:
- Due to the obligatory kitchen (or kitchenette), self-catering is possible at any time, independent of restaurant times.
- In a serviced apartment you can enjoy your privacy without having to do without hotel-like services.
- For stays of one month or more, the overnight rates are up to 50 % lower than those of hotels in a comparable category.
